英文天天写：谁说女子不如男

背景介绍：

中西方在女性从军这一方面存在着一个主要区别：西方军队吸收女性更多是从就业平等的个人权利角度出发，女兵均以个人名义参加，与男性平等竞争，最多在名额和某些体能指标上有所不同。除明文规定外，在职业技能和评价上不再有所照顾，更不会考虑职业技能之外的“特长”和“才艺”。而我国“携笔从戎”的众多女大学生，参军部队门类倒早已不限辅助单位，但得以出众的往往仍是舞蹈、绘画、文学甚至武术等表演意味浓厚的特长，专业也大多为中文、涉外文秘等非军事领域。
尽管近年来中国女性也开始涉足战斗机飞行员等岗位，一系列女子战斗部队也如雨后春笋般地诞生。但上述区别仍然赫然在目。
放眼神州，到处都在军训，而其中的女性永远是摄影记者的最爱。然而谁都知道，这些女孩不过就是学会了踢正步和站军姿，最多一人再打五发子弹，等待她们的依然是严峻的就业压力。

As a boy who used to spend one winter vacation in a military camp, I had a wonderful time with the military men. At that time, I and the young soldiers shared a lot of things and had a great many in common. We talked about history, military glory, pretty girls and the romances among the young uniformed men and women, and I even tutored the math for some ambitious young soldiers. But several years later, when I and my classmates had the chance to join the armed force, we said no. Although the mouthpiece of the authorities always bragged about and even propagandized that the liberation army is a furnace and it can melt anything into iron steel, but now I am strongly against the idea to join in the army for a young person who has liberal and independent thoughts. It is indeed a furnace of brainwashing, and full of the vices of cronyism and nepotism. If you do not have a background, it’s very hard for you to get a promotion. And although the military is called people’s army, we all know who it belongs. When the next wave of democracy sweeps across China, trust me, it’s a pipe dream that the gun of the people’s army will not point to the masses of people.
