Explanation

“怎么回事”（1）问发生了什么，有关心、询问的意思；（2）如果带有语气词，如“啊”“呀”等，就有了责问的意味。“怎么回事”is to ask what has happened with concern. If it is followed by mood word like “啊”“ 呀”, it is accusatorial.
